Fortis et Fidelis tapestry is a splendid detail from "Une descente de tournoi à la fin du XVème siècle" which was drawn by Jean-Paul Laurens and originally woven at the Manufacture Royale des Gobelins, Paris in 1895-1899. Laurens was a strong supporter of the Third Republic and painted in the French Academic style. Fortis and Fidelis is a detail from his much more medieval styled tapestry of a fifteenth century tournament, It is now available in several formats. This French wall tapestry is woven in a very fine quality wool and cotton weave, lined, with a rod pocket for easy hanging.
