At the Tournament

At the Tournament tapestry

At the Tournament tapestry is "Une descente de tournoi à la fin du XVème siècle" drawn by Jean-Paul Laurens (1838-1921). It was woven at the Manufacture Royale des Gobelins 1895-1899. Laurens painted mostly in the French Academic style of the Third Republic but this 15th century tournament design is much more stylised.

This French tapestry is shown here in its full design but it is also available in several details on our website, all woven in a very fine quality wool and cotton weave. It is lined and has a rod pocket for ease of hanging- we provide tapestry hanging information with each order.
