Verdure Meudon

Verdure Meudon

Verdure Meudon tapestry is one half of the Verdure Chantilly tapestry (the other half being Verdure Hautil), originally woven in Beauvais in the early 18th century. It has a woodland scene of a cottage viewed through the forest trees. The cottage has a picket fence and there are wild flowers and a meandering stream in the foreground. The border of this piece has ripened fruits including grapes, apples, plums, and pears gracefully entwined around the piece. This very fine quality French tapestry, woven by Jules Pansu, is lined and has a rod tunnel. We enclose information about how to hang a tapestry with your order. Please note that it is non-returnable.
