Mandolin and Guitar 1924 tapestry

The Mandolin and Guitar 1924 tapestry is from a vibrant still life by Pablo Picasso. He painted this Cubist oil on canvas in Juan-les-Pins in 1924. The original now hangs in the Guggenheim Museum, New York.

This, and all our Picasso tapestries, are finely woven in France by Jules Pansu, a long-established weaver who has been licensed exclusively by the Picasso Foundation to reproduce the original paintings. We are enormously impressed by the high quality of the weave, appreciating how each element of the design has a slightly different type of weave, faithfully emulating the original. Each signed and numbered tapestry replicates the original colours and brushstrokes. They are fully lined, with a rod pocket for easy wall-hanging - we supply tapestry hanging instructions for this with every order.
