Napoleon Crossing the Alps tapestry shows the Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte on a rearing horse from a painting by Jacques-Louis David. The 1800-01 oil painting is sometimes known as Bonaparte at the St Bernard Pass since he was crossing the Alps before defeating the Austrians at the Battle of Marengo.
