William Morris portiere - Medium - Green

The Medium William Morris portiere is adapted from a timeless design by this great Arts and Crafts designer. It is available in three sizes (one larger than this, one smaller) and in two colour tones; there are maroon and brown versions in each size too. The sizes result in a different niumber of elements in each tapestry, most noticeable in the swirling acanthus leaves.

All these tapestries are woven in France today by a long established weaver in their top quality weave, with the wool giving full depth and the cotton fine detailing. These portiere hangings are fully lined and have a rod pocket for easy wall-hanging. We provide instructions for this with every order.

Incidentally, a portiere is a hanging traditionally placed at the side of major doors, often in pairs. Today we hang them wherever we please.
