Forsaken Vineyard tapestry
The Forsaken Vineyard tapestry is from a detail of the Apocalypse Tapestry at the Chateau of Angers in the Loire Valley. Woven in the late 14th century in 90 scenes illustrating the Book of Revelation, it is the oldest surviving French tapestry. This particular piece might also be called The Finished Grapes Harvest tapestry showing the harvested vines. We have several other scenes in our Medieval Tapestries section.
Today this tapestry is woven in France by a long-established French weaver - Jules Pansu in in 95% cotton and 5% polyester. It is lined with a rod pocket - we provide tapestry hanging suggestions with your order.
