Lebensbaum Tree

Lebensbaum Tree tapestry detail

The Lebensbaum Tree wall tapestry, the central portion of an applied art oil painting created by Gustav Klimt for the 1902 Vienna Secessionist Exhibition. Also known as The Tree of Life, it was part of the Beethoven Frieze, also called the Stoclet Frieze. The full Lebensbaum tapestry is also available - do refer to this full image for a better rendition of the colours. Please note the the largest size is non-returnable.

Klimt tapestries

This is one of the most dramatic of our Klimt tapestries and is stunningly woven in Belgium in soft wool and acrylic with some fine detailing using 3% golden lurex which brings it to life. It is lined with a rod pocket - we supply tapestry hanging information with every order.

One of our favourite Gustav Klimt tapestries, this thickly and tightly woven Belgian tapestry hangs here in a Milwaukee home. (Note that the night-time photo does not show the "lemony" hue as well as in the above and bottom photos.):

Vicki, in Washington DC, wrote "The tapestry was such a hit - my husband was stunned and it takes a lot to accomplish that!".

Below is a close-up photo from the full Lebensbaum tapestry, giving a good indication of this superb wall-hanging:-
