The Capture of Lille tapestry is one of the 14 tapestries illustrating the wars of Louis XIV. Here we see his victory at the town of Lille, now in northern France. The inscription reads "Prise de la ville de L'Isle en Flandres par l'armee DV roi Louis XIV commander par sa majestee en personne en l'annee MDCLXVII."
This fine quality Belgian tapestry in three sizes uses a thicker yarn tightly woven resulting in full depth yet fine detail. Today it is woven in Belgium in 82% cotton, 10% viscose and 8% polyester. It is lined, with a rod pocket for easy wall hanging - we provide tapestry hanging information with each order. Please note that this tapestry is Non-Returnable.
