Musical Shepherd tapestry
The Musical Shepherd tapestry is a Francois Boucher tapestry from his famous Noble Pastorale tapestries series first woven at Beauvais in 1755. Francois Boucher was Director of the royal tapestry workshops there and was also Court Painter to King Louis XV. It shows a shepherd playing a flute to his girlfriend by a waterfall next to a lake. Both are remarkably well-dressed in typical Boucher fashion.
This tapestry is woven in Italy and available either lined with a rod pocket for easy hanging or unlined off-the-loom. The unlined option is suitable for upholstery or for finishing off your own wall-hanging.
