Vincent van Gogh

These tree blossoms represented hope and new awakening at a time when Vincent van Gogh was suffering depression. Certainly we find them uplifting. Note the influence of Japanese woodblocks (he had described Arles, where this may have been painted, as “the Japan of the south”).

Brendan wrote from Newfoundland "By the way, I neglected to touch base before, but we wanted to commend you for the expedient way in which the tapestry was sent us. We received a shipping notice and could track its movement along the way. We received it within a week and it was delivered to our  door. It doesn't get any better than that. We, and everyone who sees the tapestry, enjoys it very much.".
