The Hands and Horses tapestry is the most popular of the cave paintings tapestries from central France. This scene of the Dappled Horses of Pech Merle is from the Pech Merle cave in the Lot valley where the paintings are over 20,000 years old. This ancient art tapestry is woven in Belgium in a thick but tight weave with  a blend of 44% cotton, 30% wool, 18% trevira and 8% mercurise which produces fullness and depth yet has excellent close detail.
