Serenade rouge
This
tapestry is one of a series designed by François Boucher (1703 - 1770). Typical of his expression of the Rococo style it features two lovers in a romantic scene, featured within a medaillon shrouded in a wreath. This is further complimented with further floral wreath details including an ornamental urn overflowing with flowers. The entire piece is set against a warm red background that compliments the gold of the details, and helps focus the attention on the central motif. This tapestry is lined and has a tunnel for ease of hanging.
