This tapestry is a celebration of the annual wine harvest and depicts the medieval wine production in its various stages. Around the tapestry we also see the distinctive Mille Fleurs decoration typical of Medieval tapestries. During the Middle Ages tapestries were commissioned by the wealthy and tended to reflect dramatic themes and religious symbolism. More rarely work was commissioned to depict everyday scenes, like the piece above, offering a rare glimpse into life during Medieval times. This tapestry is lined and has a tunnel for ease of hanging.
