This
tapestry depicts a detail from the Bayeux Tapestry created in the 11th century which retraces the history of the conquest of England by William the Conqueror in 1066. In this scene, Harold leaves for the coast preceded by his pack of hounds, to get on board and to go and inform William that he is named by Edward as his successor to the throne of England. This tapestry is lined and has a tunnel for ease of hanging.
