Le Festin - The Feast
This
tapestry was inspired by the famous, 'Le Dejeuner'- an oil painting on canvas by the artist, Édouard Manet. It is one in a series of seven tapestries known as La Parabole de Enfant Prodigue (the prodigal son) and was woven in the 16th century in the workshops of Tournai. This scene depicts a countryside landscape with the prodigal son feasting in high company - a truly vibrant tapestry. This tapestry is lined and has a tunnel for ease of hanging.
