Limoges basket

This tapestry is from the original 19th century painting, itself inspired by Limoges porcelain. Very much a part of upmarket Victorian life Limoges porcelain was the epitome of good taste, and was often embellished with ornate floral designs. This piece embraces this decorative element, with vivid pink flowers and blue ribbon being found in the central image as well as around the ornate border. The original is part of the Wallace Collection in London. This tapestry is lined and has a tunnel for ease of hanging.
