This finely woven French tapestry shows a rubber tree with forest details in the background. The foreground, in sharp focus, features a richly detailed rubber tree whilst the background, indistinct in the sharp afternoon light, shows a bird perched flying from a branch. The image is reminiscent of 17th century Oriental art that took delight in amazing people with images of exotic and alien landscapes. This is a finely woven Fench wool and cotton tapestry weave, it is lined and it has a tunnel for ease of hanging.
