Jardin du Luxembourg

This attractive tapestry depicts the famous Luxembourg Gardens in Paris. The scene shows a group of young women playing in the gardens during summer, with the sprawling lawns and abundant flowers and trees in plain view. Part of the Luxembourg Palace, the gardens were built for Marie de Medicis between 1615 and 1627. Statues of the queens of France can be found throughout the gardens, and they remain one of the most popular destinations in Paris for tourists. This tapestry is lined and has a tunnel for ease of hanging.
