Triumph of Flora tapestry

Flora is a fine Belgian tapestry designed by Francois Boucher. As Director of the royal workshops at Beauvais Francois Boucher (1703-70) produced many designs of Louis XV tapestries. The most famous series were the Noble Pastorale tapestries of 1755. His tapestry designs are recognisable for the idyllic romantic scenes in country settings, combining the classical and the pastoral. From The Tapestry House Francois Boucher collection.
