Bouquet column

This highly detailed tapestry is from the original oil painting by Corneille van Spaendonck (1756 - 1840). It depicts a still life scene, with a lush arrangement of flowers and fruit sat on a basket. The richness of the colors is especially vibrant given the dark featureless background. The artist, van Spaendonck, was a celebrated 19th century Dutch painter whose virtuosity in still life is apparent. This tapestry is lined and has a tunnel for ease of hanging.
