Flower vase

This piece depicts a delicate floral arrangement, and is from the original by Jean-Baptiste Monnoyer (1634 - 1699). Set in a small alcove the flowers are arranged in a rustic basket, and set against a distant landscape. Monnoyer specialized in this genre of art and worked at Versailles for King Louis XIV throughout the 17th century. This tapestry is lined and has a tunnel for ease of hanging .
